Apart from the normal day-to-day consulting work you might have noticed a post somewhere about a new product called “Verdac” that I will talk about shortly; and then I finally accepted defeat and decided to trash Optitask my baby project since early 2002. It hurts yes but it’s time to cut my losses and move on. Btw. if you’re interested to take it over let me know, otherwise it’s going to Open Source.

On a more positive note! Verdac is the project I’ve been working on since late last year that allows companies to quickly create the own fill able electronic forms and publish them on their blogs, website and on mobile phones. The latter is our main differentiator from the existing competitors.

Entries are recorded into a database and an easy to use interface allow users to export records to CSV files, create PDF reports or start a collaboration on entries between the administrator and originator of the form.

Verdac also features a powerful rules engine in the background that could assign a form to other users where workflow is required, send SMS or E-mail messages and interact with other applications through web services and an API. In a nutshell, it’s a CIO’s dream to quickly deliver small niche applications to business that literally takes only minutes to create.

How far are we do I hear you ask?

No seriously, we’re busy with in-house testing and re-visiting the sales marketing strategies to work on the rollout plan. If all goes well we can officially launch the product in around 2 months time with a few early bird test customers.

It’s been a while since I last wrote anything on my blogs. If you haven’t noticed I actually split my personal blog from my business blog to separate my own freelance work and hobbies from my business’s goals. I anticipated running two blogs instead of just the one and now I find less time than ever before just to keep one updated.

Hopefully things will change real soon. I don’t regard myself as a professional writer of any sort but I enjoy sharing my thoughts and endeavors. Here’s a quick update on what’s happening behind the scenes.

What a rush! To get a new improved website launched is as exhilarating as taking delivery of your dream car the same day that you go on holiday…well, maybe not but its close!

Welcome to our new website!

This is a very exciting day for me that have dragged on way too long. We planned a re-development of our website in February 2010 already but we were so blessed with project work that we never had a chance to work on our own site. We’re still pretty busy but had to put in some extra time to get this done and it’s finally paid off.

The main goal for the new website was to help us to showcase some of our work a little easier to new potential customers and improve communication and value for existing customers.

Our plan is to post valuable content, videos, tips and tricks in our blog on a weekly basis to help our customers get the most out of their websites. Some of the topics will include how to use social media to improve customer reach, tips and tricks to improve your site’s visibility in search engines, marketing tutorials and other interesting topics that will help you to make your web presence work for you.
